World Summit Award (WSA) is a United Nations-based global awards initiative with a clear focus on digital innovation with social impact and relation to the UN SDG’s.
It has been initiated in 2003 in the framework of the UN World Summit on the Information Society (UN WSIS) held in Geneva, and cooperates with UNESCO and UNIDO.
WSA implements the UN agenda for the development of the information society and supports specifically the UN Sustainable Development Goals of ending poverty, hunger and disease, providing education for all, saving the environment and giving a fair share to women through the use of ICTs.
